Hi there, I’m Codi, a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) here at Canterbury Animal Hospital. Even as a kid, I had a major interest in animals and a natural tendency to help others. In college, I did some volunteer work involving restoration/conservation work on Philip Island, Australia, where I built little blue penguin habitats and placed them in the wild to help stimulate their declining population. Working as a CVT, you get the best of both worlds by being able to provide optimum compassionate care to an array of furry friends. Additionally, having a Fear Free Certification allows me to approach my patients as friendly as possible, helping to relieve any stress they may have from being in a new environment with weird smells. The most rewarding aspect of my job is seeing the change in body language from the beginning to end of the visit, that’s how true friends are made! Outside of work, some of my favorite hobbies consists of traveling, getting outdoors, and crafting. However, my favorite part of everyday is coming home to my long-term partner of 11 years, energetic 9 year old Chiweenie, and curious little fella 4 year old Ball python.
